La Isla Del Encanto
I will take any excuse to fly back to my favorite island + second home: San Juan, Puerto Rico. I love this island so much + feel a special kind of bond to the island as soon as I touch ground. Everything feels right when I arrive and the weather is humid + sunny. I flew back to San Juan in August ‘23 to photograph a very dear friend of mine's boutique hotel called: La Botanica. During my visit to San Juan, I also collaborated with The Spoon Experience, which is a guided food/drink tour that takes you on a historic journey through the islands rich culture and history.
On top of visiting + creating content at La Botanica, I also traveled to neighboring island called Vieques. During my stay in Vieques, I stayed at Botanica’s sister hotel called, Finca Victoria. At Finca, it’s very opened + communal. The breakfasts are Ayurvedic and carefully curated, the yoga starts at 8am sharp in the most beautiful outdoor studio setting you’ve ever seen that over looks the trees + the ocean. When I tell you Puerto Rico is special, these are all the reasons why. The island has so much beauty to offer, and Sylvia, the creator behind Botanica + Finca, is so sensational at highlighting it..
